Now, the users of Google in the U.S. can order food from firms such as Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu, and MyPizza.com right from the search results.
Once a user searches for a restaurant that provides the home delivery service via any of these service providers, the user will get an option to place an order. The user will be given the links to the services and options to order from the website.
Last year, the food delivery startups got $600 million in venture capital funding, but still most customers are placing orders by calling the restaurants. The partnership with Google will help these startups to attract more customers. On the other hand, Google will get the benefit of tapping into the data from the booming industry.
With this option of ordering from its search results, Google will redirect the users to its main search site. The users can see the type of food and restaurants and the delivery services they prefer.
