Sony Xperia X Performance users in Canada are receiving a new software update which installs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The update is being rolled out to Rogers Xperia X Performance units.
Weighing at a hefty 550MB, the update also brings the April security patch other than bumping up the software to Android 7.1.1. And as is the usual norm, it also includes regular bug fixes and system improvements.
Rogers Xperia X Performance was updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in February while Sony started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to unlocked Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance devices last month.

The update is being rolled out over the air. And is the case with OTA updates, it will happen in phases and as such not everyone will get it instantly. Some users may see the update notification in a few days or even a week.
However, if you are too impatient to wait, you can check for it right away by going to Settings > About device > System updates. Before hitting the download button, connect your Sony device to a WiFi network and get it at least 50 percent charged.
