The Redmi Note 5 Pro has barely a year into the market but Xiaomi is already moving forward with plans to unveil its successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro. A few days ago, specs and pricing details of the phone emerged online, but it appears the device had already made a stop at the Wi-Fi Alliance for certification.
At the WFA, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has been cleared with model number M1806E7TH, which shouldn’t mean much for Xiaomi fans. The listing doesn’t mention which version of Android the device will have, but it’s likely to come preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and receive Xiaomi Android 9 Pie update soon after.

Although details of the Redmi Note 6 Pro are still scarce, the fact that the device has been cleared by the WFA suggests its launch isn’t too far away. We saw Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite launched less than a year into the release of the Mi A1, so we won’t be surprised if Xiaomi unveils the Note 6 Pro this September or maybe October 2018.
