The Redmi Note 3 Pro from Xiaomi has been spotted running Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS on GFXbench. Is Xiaomi really working on a Nougat update for the Redmi Note 3, or was this all an just a mistake. Taking into account Xiaomi’s pathetic reputation for updating device, and the fact that the Qualcomm variant of the Redmi Note 3 had only received the Marshmallow update last month, it seems dubious.

Based on the specs listed in the benchmark, we can make out that the device indeed fits the description of the Redmi Note 3 Pro. Which is also the title of the listing.

But a doubt arises as regards the given screen size in the listing, which touts the Redmi Note 3 as sporting 5.7-inch display, when it’s available in the market as 5.5-inch phablet. Given the sad state of Xiaomi’s software support, we may have to take this news with a grain of salt. But it’s not entirely impossible, either.

That being said, Xiaomi surely caters more towards its flagship devices which are set to receive the Nougat update in the coming months. Maybe we can optimistically expect Xiaomi to have turned a new leaf and actually care for the countless number of smartphones they churn out every few months.
