TikTok’s imminent ban in the US may have sounded the death knell for the creators, but there are several alternatives that are cropping up to take its space. The most popular among these is Rednote – another Chinese app that has is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s similar to TikTok but has several Instagram-like elements as well. If you’re looking to jump on the Rednote bandwagon, here’s everything you need to know to create your Rednote account.

How to create your Rednote account

First things first, download and install the Rednote app for your device.
Launch Rednote. You’ll be asked to login on the main page. Choose the Log In option to start creating your account with your phone number.

Alternatively, if you want to use your Google or Apple account, use the Other Login Methods option.

Agree to the terms and conditions and follow any other login prompts.
Once logged in, you’ll be asked to choose your gender and age. But if you don’t want to mention just yet, tap on the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select ‘Decline for now’.
Select up to 4 interests to start and then tap Start exploring. If you’re not sure, you can again tap on the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select ‘Decline for now’.
Grant Rednote the permissions that you want.

And that’s it! You’ve now created your Rednote account. Any adjustments you want to make to your profile, content preferences, account settings, or languages can all be made via the Settings option in the ‘More options’ menu, accessible via the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
