It’s that time of the week again that Xiaomi users are eagerly looking forward to the new release of MIUI 10 beta that brings the software version 8.9.6. This means the update will begin rolling out on September 6th, but as usual, the company has already published a preview into the changelog that comes attached to the new update.
Similar to the previous update to MIUI 10 8.8.30, the latest version also focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements. Apparently, the issue where WhatsApp and Telegram display double notifications even when there’s only one unread message didn’t go away after the previous update. This problem has been here for as long as we can remember, but we hope the update to MIUI 10 8.9.6 finally puts it to bed.
Owners of the popular Redmi Note 5 have also reported cases where the Camera app would stop working or if it doesn’t, issues arise when using it in Panorama mode. If any of this has affected you, make sure to get the update to 8.9.6 when the OTA arrives.
Other issues that the MIUI 10 8.9.6 update also addresses include texts translation error in First aid, notifications cannot be cleared, and some app icons don’t show in the notification panel, among others.
