Xiaomi, of late, has become one of the best options for those smartphone users looking for great specs and design within a reasonable rate. As such the news of Xiaomi launching a new device is greeted with much fanfare. And when it is its upcoming flagship smartphone Mi6, the excitement and curiosity increases manifold. While there have been a couple of leaks suggesting its rumored specsheet, unfortunately, leaked images of the premium device have been rare and scarce, almost none. But that changes now as first live images of Xiaomi Mi6 have appeared.
Coming right out of the parent country, the image, although doesn’t look that legit, does a lot to give us a brief about its appearance. Posted by an unknown tipster on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the front of the Mi6 is shown in the pics.
The Mi6, as seen in the images, leans more towards Mi Mix in design ditching the looks of its predecessor Mi 5. It sports almost bezel-less look and amazing screen-to-body ratio, a la, Mi Mix. The tiny top bezel has the front camera but the fingerprint scanner on the bottom bezel is missing, leading us to guess its placement on the rear end of the device.
The device seems to be running on MIUI skin. But the absence of a Mi logo anywhere in the front decreases the credibility of the image.
Xiaomi Mi6 will purportedly come in two variants- standard edition and youth edition with a price difference of 70$. The price difference would be based on the screen size and quality as well as RAM capacity.
The youth Mi6 is expected to feature a flat 5.2-inch Full HD display (1920×1080 pixels) while the standard or ceramic edition will sport a curved 5.5-inch WQHD display (2560×1440 pixels). In terms of storage, the former will pack in 4GB RAM/64GB ROM combo while the latter will boast of 6GB RAM/ 64GB ROM.

The processor on board will also differ- MediaTek Helio x30 processor for base model and Snapdragon 835 processor for ceramic edition. On the imaging front, the rear shooter is set at 12MP and the front camera at 8MP.
The starting price of Xiaomi Mi 6 youth edition will be 1999 Yuan while the Mi6 Standard edition is said to be priced around 2699 Yuan. Xiaomi could announce the youth Mi6 edition in March while we will have to wait till June-July to get our hands on the premium Mi6 model.
