Thanks to an Oppomart listing, we have a clear idea of what Xiaomi Mi5 will bring to us, and for what price. The upcoming handset from Xiaomi is already listed at the site for $599 price, so the new flagship of Xiaomi isn’t going to be a cheap one, a departure from trend you may say, even though it’s loaded with otherwise awesome spec-sheet. Below are Mi5 specs.
You’re looking at a device with 3GB RAM, 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor (yes, no 64-bit 810 here), massive 5.7″ display with Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels, 515 PPI), 16/64GB internal storage, 16MP (with aperture of f/1.8) and 8MP cameras, 4G LTE and great 3600 mAh battery.
There is some doubt over the processor, as even though quick details column of the page lists the processor as 805, the specs listing has it as 801. Our guess is with former, because 801 is very old now, belonging to 2013 flagships.
The Mi5 would launch with Android 5.0 on board, along with the custom skin MIUI 6, and is 8.8mm thick (155 x 79 x 8.8 mm). It would weigh around 156 grams and would come in two colors: black and white.
Expect the Xiaomi Mi5 to release very soon, in a week or two.
So..
What do you think, is Xiaomi Mi5 too costly for $599 as you can even get even bigger and better device in Nexus 6 by paying just $50 extra? Unless the build is extraordinary, we don’t Xiaomi will be able to woo customer with its usual design concept (going by last year’s phones) for that price, the specs notwithstanding.
