We’re only two days away from the official announcement but leaks and rumors about the next Xiaomi flagship deny to die. A new AnTuTu listing confirms some specs of the Xiaomi Mi4S (it could be Mi5, btw) but we said it Mi4S because that’s what listing is calling it. We were expecting Xiaomi to announce the Redmi Note 2 on its January 15 event, but it seems Xiaomi could surprise us with launch of two devices, other one being a successor to Mi4.
Debate over whether that will be called Mi4S or Mi5 wouldn’t simply end until official announcement, but Mi4S looks more likely for now — though we’d have preferred the Mi5 moniker, just because Mi4S sounds so iPhone-ish.
As regards specifications, it looks like the Xiaomi Mi4S will feature the same Snapdragon 801 processor as Mi4, but the benchmark score of 46,866 suggests Xiaomi has been able to improve the performance even while retaining the same chip. Mi4, for comparison, got 42,000 points approx.
Another surprising revelation from the listing as regards Xiaomi Mi4S specs cam about the display size in use, at 5.2-inches. We had heard gossips about the use 5.7-inch display, but that’s fine, we’d gladly accept what is on offer.
Given the specs of 5.2-inch display with same Snapdragon 801 processor, we would bet it’s Mi4S and not Mi5, which looked more likely when we heard about the use of mighty Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM and Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) on next Xiaomi flagship. What do you say?
