Xiaomi Mi 6 may feature Snapdragon 821 processor instead of 835

According to a new sketchy rumor, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi6 may not feature the Snapdragon 835 as thought, at least not at first. The rumor says that the initial batches of the flagship could come with the Snapdragon 821 processor. The phone is supposed to be announce on April 6th.

The Xiaomi Mi6 with the Snapdragon 835 would still be released, but much later than the SD 821 variant. This is mainly because Samsung has used all the initial stock of the SD 835 on their upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphones.

A similar thing also happened with the recently announced LG G6, which had to go with the older Snapdragon processor as the newer wasn’t available. Yes, Xiaomi could have delayed the launch of the Mi6 so it could use the SD 835 from the beginning, but that would’ve been too late.

Sony has done that with the Xperia XZ Premium, which features a Snapdragon 835 but will only be available from June 1st. Xiaomi will have at least three variants of the Mi6, and one of them would most likely feature the SD 835.
