Earlier, when you accidentally (or umm, intentionally) sent a message on WhatsApp that you should not have sent, there is nothing you could do, other than regretting it. However, that is about to change, as WhatsApp has introduced a feature that lets you unsend a message.
The feature is known as ‘Delete for everyone’ on WhatsApp and lets you delete/unsend a message within 7 minutes after sending it. So, yep, you have guessed it right. No more regrets for typos or accidental messages to your ex. The “Delete for everyone” feature works for all types of messages – text, GIFs, images, video etc. However, it doesn’t work for Broadcast messages.
How to delete WhatsApp messages
- Touch and hold the WhatsApp text that you want to delete.
- Select delete from the top bar.
- On the pop up menu, select DELETE FOR EVERYONE to unsend a message. If you wish to delete the message on your end only, select DELETE FOR ME.
- If the other person hasn’t checked their messages, they will get a notification saying, “This message was deleted”.
That’s all you have to do.
