VV: Ultimatum Update 2 – All Changes, New Skills and Ascensions Guide

Update 2 is a lighter patch built around balance and quality-of-life changes, but it still drops a handful of things worth grabbing the moment you log in. The free rerolls and Build Reset from the new code, a second Ascension tier, an AFK World with its own shop, and a couple of new Sincerity skills are all here — and the smart order is codes first, Ascension 2 next, then everything else. This walks through that sequence and the prerequisites that trip people up.

What to do first in VV: Ultimatum Update 2

Run these actions in order so you bank the free rerolls, lock in the permanent Ascension 2 stats, and see what AFK World is actually paying out.

Redeem UPD2 in the Codes tab

Open the shop’s shopping-cart menu, press Codes, and enter UPD2 for 20 Ability Rerolls and 1 Build Reset Token.

Travel to the Fort Adams Gauntlet

Fast-travel to Fort Adams and climb to the Gauntlet area, where the Ascension statue sits right at the top.

Talk to the Ascension statue

Interact with the statue on a level 100, non-ascended slot to claim Ascension 2 and its one-time reward bundle.

Return to the menu for matchmaking or AFK

From the main menu you can queue 1v1 matchmaking or drop into AFK World for passive progress.

Open the AFK Shop

Check the AFK Shop’s token prices so you know which payouts are actually worth idling for.

Current codes and how to redeem them

You can only redeem after the code menu is unlocked. Finish the tutorial, fight Gelum (you do not need to beat him), pick Quincy, Shinigami, or Hollow, and create your character. Then join the developer’s Midnight Continent Roblox group and relaunch. In-game, click the shopping-cart button at the top, open Codes, press Verify under the “Join the group!” prompt, type the code, and hit Redeem.

Older codes are worth a quick try only if they are still active — FULLRELEASE reportedly gives 1 Manipulator’s Eyepatch and 10 Clan Rerolls, and 75KLIKES gives 3 Ability Rerolls — but neither is guaranteed to still work, so do not count on them.

Ascension 2 location, requirement, and rewards

Ascension 2 continues the permanent stat progression past Ascension 1, and the statue that grants it lives in Fort Adams, up in the Gauntlet area at the top. The hard requirement is a slot that has hit level 100 and has not already been ascended — this is the single biggest source of confusion. If you walk up and the statue does nothing, the slot is almost always under level 100, already ascended, or simply the wrong slot. Because you cannot re-ascend an already-ascended main, the intended play is to push a different, non-ascended slot to 100 first.

The headline boost is +22.5% EXP Gain alongside the +16 Equipment Load, which means every slot you re-level afterward climbs noticeably faster than it did the first time — the compounding EXP is the real reason to do this early. Exact Update 2 stat values are still settling, so treat the precise buff numbers as close-but-not-final rather than locked figures.

The one-time payout is generous for a single interaction: 200 Soul Tokens, a fresh character slot, 5x Clan Tokens, and 3x each of Weapon Rerolls and Ability Rerolls. On top of that, Ascension 2 unlocks a brand-new Crocodile Hollow variant from the Marshlands, and that hollow type becomes available across all your slots — not just the one you ascended.

AFK World and the AFK Shop payout rate

AFK World is background progress, not a main farm. Once it loads you accrue roughly one payout point every 10 minutes — a stack of a dozen builds up over a couple of hours — with Clan Tokens landing at about one per 10 minutes. It is genuinely useful while you sleep or step away, but it will never outrun active play, so set expectations accordingly.

The AFK Shop lets you spend those points on tokens, and right now the pricing feels steep: an ability token runs to several hours of idling and a Build Reset Token stretches into multiple days at the current rate. That is a fair complaint about balance, not a bug, and prices may well be tuned down later — so lean on AFK World for the slow trickle and keep earning rerolls through codes and Ascension instead of grinding the shop.

You may also see claims that AFK mode “doesn’t work.” There is no solid evidence for that, and it loads and pays out normally in practice, so ignore it and let it run in the background.

Sincerity skills and when to spend your rerolls

Update 2 adds new Sincerity-type skills, but their exact names, effects, and scaling are still shaking out, so this is not the moment to hard-commit a build around them. Get a feel for them in play before you reroll toward anything specific — the details will firm up quickly, and there is no rush to over-invest on day one.

That patience matters most with your Build Reset Token. You get only one from UPD2, so hold it for a near-final build rather than burning it on early experimentation — it is a late-game optimization tool, not a respec you spam. Your free Ability Rerolls, by contrast, are best spent deliberately around real Ability and Clan decisions once you know what you are aiming for, not thrown at random early setups.

Mistakes to avoid in Update 2

Skipping the Roblox group

Codes will not redeem at all until you join the Midnight Continent group and verify it in the Codes menu.

Burning the Build Reset early

You only get one from UPD2 — save it for a near-final build, not an early experiment.

Ascending the wrong slot
