Vodafone Australia today released a new update roadmap — as they do usually every two weeks — which revealed that Huawei current best in P series, the Huawei P10, is scheduled for an update that would fix bugs on the device.
While the Huawei P10 already runs on Nougat 7.0, we’d admit we’re hoping for the Android 7.1.1 OTA from Huawei and Vodafone, but let’s hope that day isn’t very far either.
The upcoming Huawei P10 update is currently under testing at Vodafone Australia, so we expect it to go under rollout pretty soon — within 2-4 weeks if you insist on timeline.
The Huawei P10 sits at the flagship end with top of the line specs. Powered by the OEM’s indigenous Kirin 960 chipset along with 4GB of RAM, the P10 carries enough firepower to rival competing high-end devices. The smartphone also features a dual lens setup which should get better camera performance with the upcoming Nougat update.
Huawei Honor 9 is expected to be released soon in China, and given its specs and all, it looks like a worthy successor. Honor 9 price is rumored to be around 2999 yuan, which is pretty competitive pricing from Huawei.
With that said, the Huawei P10 should also be in line for the Android O update given that it was only launched this year. The next iteration of Android has now entered the next stage of the Developer Preview and will soon be released officially. When that time comes, we hope Huawei will take charge and bring Android O to its latest devices before anyone else.
