Verizon just outed a new OTA update to the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid. This new Nougat based update, which goes by software version NCL25.86-11.4, installs the latest security patch though we’re not quite sure if it’s for the month of May or for April.
Verizon hasn’t really been keeping to the schedule regarding updates. The previous update, identified by version NCLS25.86-11-4-6-8, was released around the end of March. When Motorola first started out, the OEM was known for its promise of updates and delivering them on time too. Those days are long gone now.
The current update will install the security patch which essentially protects your device from malicious code, malware and other known threats on the internet. This update also includes a couple of performance upgrades and irons out bugs from the previous build.
