Verizon Moto X is receiving an OTA update today with build number 212.166.3, but it might make you more frustrated than happy to know that it isn’t Lollipop.
Verizon mentions the update with software version 212.166.3.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US as a bug fixes and stability improvements update on the company’s official changelog pdf file.
Earlier this month Motorola’s David Schuster took to Google+ to tell us that the Lollipop update for Moto X 1st Gen. is currently being tested for US and Latin America, and if all goes well full deployments of the update will be rolling out in few weeks.
Maybe this 212.166.3 update to the Verizon Moto X is a bug fix update to prepare the device for Lollipop update, which may release anytime now. Motorola just shouldn’t delay this any longer now.
