Okay, this is Verizon’s second Pie update release in as many days. After rolling out Android Pie for LG V40 yesterday, the carrier is now seeding out Android 9 Pie for Moto G6 users. Granted, both the devices are pretty late to the party, but we would gladly take Pie for now.
The Moto G6 Pie OTA for Verizon users comes as software version PDS29.118-14 and brings along April security patch (not May!).
As usual, the Android Pie update brings a host of goodies such as Adaptive Brightness, Digital Wellbeing, Dark mode, Adaptive Battery, Gesture Navigation, App Actions, App Slices, improved DND mode, easier Screen Rotation key, etc.
If you own a Verizon G6, then it’s about time you checked for an update. Head over to Settings > About phone > System updates. If an update is available, you will be shown a notification for it. Tap on Yes, I’m in to begin the download and installation of the update.
If you get an OTA notification for the update, simply tap on I’m in button to download and install the update.
