Verizon Moto G4 Play gets January security patch update

Moto G4 Play users on Verizon carrier are receiving a new software update. The update installs the January security patch and is being rolled out over the air as we speak.

The latest firmware update arrives as software version MPIS24.241-2.35-1-13 and it gives Moto G4 Play users the most up to date Android security patch on the device. Along with the monthly security patch, the update optimizes device performance and resolves known issues.

The update being OTA is being rolled out gradually and might take some time to hit your Moto G4 Play units. If waiting is not your thing, you might want to check for the update manually. You can do that by heading to Settings>>About device>>System updates. Before hitting the download two things need to be ensured. First, your device needs to be connected to a WiFi network and second, your device’s battery needs to be fully charged.

  1. It reboots and starts updating and then I just get “Error!”

I’ve factory reseted, and also cleared partition cache. This is a stock phone.

    What do I do?
