Verizon is pushing out an OTA update to its Galaxy S5 variant (G900V) with build number G900VVZW2DPG2. The OTA update is about 108 MB in size and is on the roll as we speak.
However, it is unclear if the new firmware build is rootable. We doubt this because Verizon is known to patch any root exploits on any of the firmware its devices run on. So there’s a slight chance of breaking root with every update Verizon pushes.
We’d recommend you to wait until someone over at xda or other Android communities confirm that the G900VVZW2DPG2 update for Verzion Galaxy S5 is safe to install for rooted users or not. And if not, we’re pretty sure the folks over at xda will come with a workaround to install the update without compromising root access.
We’ll be sure to update this post once we come to know of rooting Verzion S5 on PG2 build. Until then, stay tuned..
