Verizon Announces LG Vortex Android Phone: Launches on Nov 18 for $80 with 2 Year Contract

LG Vortex Price at Verizon

If you’re looking to make switch to a smartphone and want to be at Verizon, there is a phone for you, complete with latest android experience with OS version 2.2, and other cool features moderated to a budget phone. We’re talking about the LG Vortex android phone, a kin to LG Optimus T (for T-Mobile)  and LG Optimus S (for Sprint).

The LG Vortex will be available from November 18 onwards and will cost $80 for a 2 year contract after $100 mail-in-rebate. The LG Vortex is quite accessible to anyone looking for his first dude phone but you wouldn’t dare calling it cheap, especially when it’s loaded with android in its latest avatar 2.2! Let’s take a dig at specs of LG Vortex:

  • 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen
  • 320 x 480 pixels
  • 262K colors
  • 600 Mhz Processor
  • Android 2.2
  • Pre-loaded with Bing Search and Bing Maps apps
  • Swype virtual keyboard
  • 3.2 Megapixel Camera with Auto Focus

  • Pre-installed LG Apps, including My Status with Twitter™ for LG and Facebook® for LG
  • Visual Voice Mail capable
  • Skype mobile™ capable

We think it’s a very decent phone and pretty power packed too for it’s price range, and if you’re looking for the latest Android 2.2 experience it’s a recommended buy. Unless you’re in love with Verizon, LG Vortex is also available in its non-CDMA versions with T-Mobile and Sprint, called LG Optimus T and LG optimus S respectively — both of which cost a bit less while remaining almost same on major specs.

So, what’s your take on LG Vortex? Let us know how many of you are gonna dial the LG Vortex for 2 years.

BTW, be sure to check out some of the best apps we’ve handpicked for you, when you have brought the phone home. Or if you’re still contemplating, impress yourself with android’s capabilities to make sure that’s jumping to android is the wisest decision you’ll made this year.
