Nothing officially unveiled the CMF Phone 2 Pro on Monday, April 28, 2025, as the follow-up to last year's CMF Phone 1. The new device maintains the unique modular design philosophy while addressing several shortcomings of its predecessor.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is priced at $279 for the 256GB model, positioning it firmly in the budget-friendly segment despite offering features typically found in more expensive devices. The phone is currently available for pre-order directly from Nothing, with shipments expected to begin on May 6.

Photography capabilities receive a significant upgrade with the new triple camera system. The phone features a 1/1.57-inch 50MP main sensor that captures 64% more light than its predecessor, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide with a 119.5° field of view. The front houses a 16MP selfie camera.

What makes the camera system truly unique is its modular nature. Users can attach optional fisheye and macro lenses to expand creative possibilities. The back cover is also modular, with accessories like a wallet/stand attachment available. However, these accessories will initially only be available in the UK and Europe.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000Hz touch sampling rate. At just 7.8mm thick and weighing 6.5 ounces, Nothing claims it's their slimmest smartphone yet.

Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, which offers up to 10% faster CPU performance and 5% better graphics compared to the CMF Phone 1. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD.

Battery life should be impressive with a 5,000mAh capacity that Nothing suggests can last two full days on a single charge. The phone supports 33W fast charging and 5W reverse charging. Unlike many competitors, Nothing includes the charger in the box.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro ships with Nothing OS 3.2 based on Android 15, featuring AI-driven capabilities like Essential Space. Nothing promises three years of Android updates and six years of security patches.

The phone comes in four color options: black, light green, orange, and white, each with unique design elements. The black and light green models feature a frosted glass-like back with a metallic frame, while the orange model has a metallic sheen, and the white version includes a paneled sandstone finish.

Nothing also announced several new earbuds alongside the phone, including the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2 Plus, and Buds 2a, priced between $38 and $65. However, these earbuds won't be available in the US at launch.
