It’s raining Android 5.1 updates everyday for Samsung devices. And the US Cellular Galaxy S6 (SM-G920R4) becomes second US S6 set to receive the Android 5.1 update after the T-Mobile set. The build no of the USC Galaxy S6 is G920R4TYU2BOF7, a mild up form OF6 build no. we saw on T-Mobile sets. Mind you, the international Galaxy S6, modem no. SM-G900F/I) is yet to get 5.1 treatment from Samsung — and strangely enough, the American variants are receiving the 5.1 update before their more popular and traditionally preferred-for-update international sets.
The full Odin flashable firmware in tar format is available already for flashing. If you have a Galaxy S6 set at US Cellular, you can install the Android 5.1 update right away. Samsung’s been really up to mark with the 5.1 update, as only LG has updated its Sprint G Flex 2 to 5.1, while none other OEMs have done so — except Motorola of course, which is still miles ahead of Samsung, let alone other OEMs.
Samsung devices that have received official Android 5.1 update so far include T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and International Galaxy S6 (G900F).
