A couple of days earlier we reported that a new update will soon hit HTC U11 which will bring Bluetooth 5.0 support. This news gets further confirmation with renowned tipster @LlabTooFeR revealing, via Twitter, that this flagship product is slated for an update.

The tipster also mentions all the new features and changes the update will bring. On top of the list is Bluetooth 5.0 activation. For the unawares, HTC U11 was launched with  Bluetooth 5.0 which remains disabled currently. But with the new update, the already present Bluetooth 5.0 will get activated.

The update is also said to bring August security patch. It will enable HTC U11 to shoot videos at 1080p@60fps. This feature is exhibited by Huawei P10/P10 Plus and Galaxy S8/S8+.

Other changes to be brought about by the update are tweaks for camera, performance, Edge Sense and thermal tweaks. It will also add sRGB screen mode to HTC U11.

Meanwhile, HTC is gearing up to release Solar Red U11 in Australia soon. HTC U11 is equipped with a 5.5-inch QHD display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

The highlight of the phone is the Edge Sense feature which allows you to squeeze on the edges of the phone to invoke different functionalities. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the HTC U11 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
