The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is all set to make a grand entrance next week in Canada – Gangnam Style. However, the leaks and speculations around what this device will be priced at – on or off contract, have been unprecedented, with new bits of leaked information popping up almost every day.
Last we heard, again as per leaked information from Best Buy Canada, was that the unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 2 was to cost $729 with Bell. A new leak today, out of Big Box retailers this time, seems to indicate that it would be available at $650 with Rogers – off contract. Also, it appears that the on-contract pricing with a three year agreement would be $200, which seems to be in line with the leaked contract pricing for Bell and Telus (If the pricing in the leaked image above is indeed Rogers). As per the previous leak, Rogers was offering an on-contract pricing of $250, which did seem to a bit too high, but if the $200 number is correct, then we are probably looking at a more uniform pricing, at least across the Big Three carriers.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5 inch HD Super Amoled Display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2 GB RAM and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is expected to hit Canadian stores on October 30th, through major Canadian carriers – Telus, Bell, Rogers, Mobilicity, WIND, Videotron and SaskTel.
