Finally, after five months, the oldest and the most popular file manager for Android, Total Commander File manager has received a new update for its stable version. The update pushes the version number to 2.80 from 2.72. And guess what? It has tons of new features.
Total Commander File manager now lets you unpack large ZIP/RAR files, even larger than 4 GB. Amazing, right? At the same time, Total Commander brings in support for Android 7 (Nougat), so expect improved performance on Nougat.

Further, if you like changing your ringtone regularly, you can now choose files from m4a and wav format as well in the ringtone picker. Plus, you can now move files between USB drives and external SD cards. Talking about USB drives, the latest update is better at handling SD cards and USB drives.
Accompanying the said changes, there are many modifications in the built in media player of Total Commander File manager. The UI changes include new buttons for audio/video player and it now shows current track number beside total tracks available in the current playlist on the notification bar. Not only that, the media player now remembers your last playlist and allows you to load album images too. Even more importantly, the media player now comes with sleep timer.

And, it goes without saying that there have been several bug fixes and performance improvements in the update.
