TAG Heuer, the premium watch manufacturer is prepping a smartwatch. It appears like the firm was not able to do it all by itself and hence, it seems to have partnered with Google and Intel to get this device done.
A report claims that the firm’s CEO, Jean-Claude Biver stating in an interview that the Swiss watchmaker had to rely on partnerships to help in the building of the smartwatch. It is obvious that the watchmaker will not be an expert when it comes to tech knowledge and skills.
It is claimed by Reuters that the chip maker Intel has been roped in to supply the processor for the smartwatch. On the other hand, Pocketlint claims that Google has also signed the partnership deal and we can expect the firm to give the operating system. Eventually, these uncertain rumors hint at a luxury Android Wear smartwatch that can directly complete against the Apple Watch.
The watchmaker’s CEO noted that the innards of the smartwatch and its operating system will be American and the other parts such as crown, design, dial and casing will be from Swiss. The smartwatch is said to be a replica of the firm’s black Carrera watch that is priced at $3,000 based on the model.
This smartwatch from TAG Heuer is claimed to be announced sometime today. We will have to wait to know more details about the wearable.
