OnePlus released the OxygenOS 9.5.9 update for the global variant of OnePlus 7 Pro about two weeks ago, and followed it with a bug-fixer update in 9.5.10 build later on, but it never said when the update will come to T-Mobile variant.
Well, that’s no longer a worry, as T-Mobile today began rolling out its own OxygenOS 9.5.9 update, too. Users over at Reddit and OnePlus forums have confirmed the rollout of OxygenOS 9.5.9 update for the T-Mobile 7 Pro.
But, T-Mobile’s 9.5.9 update for the 7 Pro is not similar to the global variant. To start with, the update lacks the ‘Face Unlock assistive lighting’ feature that the 9.5.9 update for global variant packed in, a user confirmed.
Although the OxygenOS 9.5.9 update for the T-Mobile 7 Pro does bring the latest security patch in July 2019, we are yet to get our hands on the full changelog at the moment. [Update: We can confirm that none of the great features and fixes that were part of the global 9.5.9 update are part of T-Mobile’s 9.5.9 build, which is confined only to installing July security patch.]
If you own a OnePlus 7 Pro at T-Mobile, now is the time to check for a software update. Go to Settings > scroll down and tap System, tap System updates. The system will look for an update now and if the device is already eligible, it will ask you to start downloading the update.
