Leaks, leaks, and more leaks!! This time around, the culprit is Walmart, one of the largest retail chains in the US.  Walmart’s pricing details for upcoming T-Mobile handsets, which include the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 2, have mysteriously leaked out and are now doing the rounds of the internet as we write this. But then, who doesn’t love a good leak? And all is forgiven when the information concerns one of the most popular and looked-forward-to handset of the year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

As you can see right at the bottom of the list, (provided this is a genuine pricing list) the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 would go for $299 at Walmart- of course, with the standard caveat of the 2 year contract with T-Mobile. Surprisingly, the Walmart pricing seems to be the same as what Sprint has announced for the Galaxy Note 2, making it look like we may not see too much of variance in the price between direct carrier pricing and retailers. But these are still preliminary prices, and not officially confirmed as yet. One also needs to keep in mind that carrier pricing may vary from retailer to retailer, with some retailers applying a higher margin than others, and some banking on high sales volumes due to very low margins applied.

$300 for the Note 2, if true, it does seem a bit steep, with the highest pricing for the Canadian Galaxy Note 2 being $249 with Rogers. In any case, it’s just a matter of a few more days, and all the clouds over the Note 2 pricing should clear out.

Would you be getting one for $300, or would you rather get a Galaxy S3 for $99 and spend the rest of the money on some other goodies?
