Return to the main room with the Holotable, interact with M-3VO beside the central platform, and finish the conversation to unlock Astromech operators.
This is a short hub objective, but M-3VO is involved in several Astromech-related flows with different prerequisites and locations. Match the instructions to the objective or reward you are pursuing.
When and where the M-3VO objective appears

Begin when Talk to M-3VO about the Astromech appears as an optional objective on the HUD. That prompt indicates that this particular conversation is available.
Key For this objective, M-3VO stands beside the central platform in the main Holotable room. Also called Meevo, M-3VO is a bipedal utility droid, not the separate R-series Astromech being discussed.

Astromech operator access and the Recruitment Facility
Key The exchange is complete when ASTROMECHS UNLOCKED! appears on screen. This notification means Astromech operator access is now open.
Head to the Recruitment Facility after the notification appears to recruit an Astromech operator.
The separate R3 Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack is pre-order customization content. To use that reward after completing its unlock requirements, open the Character Databank, select the Astromech tab, choose Create New, pick the R3 preset, and continue to its Appearance, Personality, and Dossier options.
Why M-3VO has no Astromech dialogue

If the optional objective is absent from the HUD, the relevant progression may still be incomplete. Check whether you are pursuing the demonstrated operator objective, the R3 pre-order cosmetic, or BR-1 recruitment before looking for M-3VO.
For the R3 Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack, complete the Smugglers’ Manifest Operation, finish any available Holotable mission, and then speak with M-3VO. Purchasing eligible pre-order content alone does not bypass this campaign sequence.
The BR-1 recruitment route uses facility progression instead. Build the Droid Repair Bay at the Upgrade table for 2,000 Credits, allow 1 Cycle for construction, complete a mission, and then speak with M-3VO at the Medical Bay.
When Talk to M-3VO about the Astromech is already active, follow its route to the central Holotable platform. The Medical Bay direction belongs to the BR-1 path, while the Den is the broader hub associated with Astromech content; these locations should not be treated as one universal sequence.
