Looks like Sprint is on a roll today! The US carrier has already seeded new updates for the Samsung Galaxy J3 and the LG V20. But, it seems the updates are still coming, this time for the LG G6.
The LG G6 on Sprint is currently receiving a new update that should enhance the security of the smartphone. The software is labeled version LS993ZVA and it is being seeded as an OTA update. Users of the device should receive a notification for the update once it’s ready for download.
Some of you may have already received this update, as it was originally seeded last week. Most of the users, though, are seeing it now. Once again, as this is a security update, don’t expect any new features or changes to the UI.
The update will install a newer Android security patch, possible the January or the December 2017 one, which should fix certain bugs and security loopholes. The previous update to the device brought the November security patch.
LG has yet to release the Android Oreo update for the LG G6, and it seems like users may have to wait until the end of next month. We aren’t sure about the release date as such, but reports have pointed to a late February release. The only LG smartphone to get the Oreo update is the LG V30.
