After skipping Android 5.0, Sprint has finally released the much-awaited Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its Moto G. The Android 5.1 software version is LPB23.13-56, and it also patches Stagefright bug on the device. And that’s all as far as changelog goes.
It’s been long wait for Moto G users at Sprint, and if you are one of them, it’s about time you said hello to that ‘check for update’ button under Settings > About phone > System updates.
The Sprint Moto G Android 5.1 update is already out as an OTA, so it could hit your device anytime now under the gradual rollout process.
Lollipop is a big update, and after spending an age on KitKat (KXB21.14-L1.57), Moto G couldn’t ask for more from Sprint right now. Android 6.0? Well, that’s asking too much on a day you received Lollipop update long due.
Do feedback us on how the update treats you once you once you have made the jump to Android 5.1, in its pure stock form without any customization from Motorola, which is a lovely thing.
