Sprint is now rolling out an Android 7.1.1 OTA update, that brings you the January security patch. The update will also fix bugs from the previous build and bring performance and stability improvements too.
The update comes as build date of January 5, 2017, which is in compliance with the 1st or 5th day of the month Google release the patches every month, and the rollout looks timely, given that it’s from a carrier, even though the unlocked Nexus 6 received the update around January 5 itself.
Google may have forced the Nexus devices to walk the plank but it sure does seem to have a presence in other sectors. Google may be planning to feature its AI assistant in the LG G6. And Google’s Project Tango is now making its way to the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom.
On the new front, there has been little news about Sprint, which released an dpate recently for the Galaxy Note 4, while its Galaxy S7 is approved for Nougat already, and should receive it next month.
