Sprint has started pushing latest security patch update to two LG devices. These devices are LG G4, the predecessor of LG G5 and LG G6, and the recently launched LG Stylo 3, the successor of LG Stylo 2.

The latest update applies the September security patch to both the devices. And like most of the OEMs, the September patch also includes the Blueborne patch for both the devices.

For the unaware, Blueborne is a recently discovered attack vector that spreads through the air using Bluetooth and lets hackers gain access to your devices. It’s so dangerous that no pairing is required to make a malicious attempt, instead, the only requirement is Bluetooth should be on for your device. Hence, it is very important to apply the patch as soon as you receive it.

The update started rolling out earlier today to both of these devices. It may, however, take some time to reach your device. In the meantime, you can check it manually by going into Settings  – About – Software. Further, the update arrives as version LS991ZV and LS777ZV7 for LG G4 and LG Stylo 3 respectively.

While HTC, Sony, and Motorola have revealed their plans for Oreo update, LG seems to be sleeping. LG has given no update about its Oreo plan. However, while, the latest flagship devices from LG, LG V30, and LG G6 are sure to receive Oreo, we are not sure about LG G4 and LG Stylo 3.

Meanwhile, OnePlus recently rolled out Oreo update for select few users of OnePlus 3 and earlier today, we reported that Nokia 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will get to taste Oreo update in the coming months.
