The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge units on Sprint network are receiving a new firmware update which installs the April security patch. The update is being rolled out over the air as we speak.

The Galaxy S7 is receiving the firmware update as build number G930PVPU4BQD2 while the update is hitting the S7 Edge as build number G935PVPU4BQD2. Although a minor update, it is highly recommended as it brings the monthly Android security patch.

As is the usual norm, the update also fixes regular bugs on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and enhances system improvements, other than installing the monthly update.

The update is being pushed over the air, as such it may take a while to hit your Galaxy device. Alternately, you can manually check for it by heading to Settings > About device > System updates. As we always recommend, get your handset at least 50 percent charged and connect it to a WiFi network before going for the installation of the new firmware update.
