Sprint has released a software update today for the affordable handset Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve. The new update ups the software version on the device to J337PVPS3ASC2.

Sprint did share the changelog, which reveals that the ASC2 update brings security patches up to the month of April 2019. Though, nothing else seems to be the part of the OTA update that began rolling out o April 12 itself.

With a 5″ HD Screen, 1.35 GHz Quad-Core processor, Android 8.0 Oreo, and 16 GB internal memory, J3 achieve can be considered as an old but a decent budget phone. It has an 8MP rear and a 5MP front camera which is pretty good considering the model’s price.

As usual, we would recommend connecting to a stable Wi-Fi connection to download the update. Though, considering this is just a security patch OTA, its size shouldn’t be heavy on your mobile data connection either. At least 50% battery is recommended before you hit the update button.

FYI, Sprint is busy fixing a major bug on the Galaxy S10 handsets that is causing LTE and roaming issues to many people. Worse, the same bug seems to have spread to the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 users too.

The Galaxy J3 should be in line to receive Android 9 Pie update from Samsung with One UI custom skin, as we also spotted the device clear the Wi-Fi Alliance with Android 9 onboard.
