At the MWC 2015 last week, we did not hear any details regarding the upcoming Sony flagship smartphone, Xperia Z4. This does not mean that Sony will not be launching the device anytime sooner.
The Japanese firm is undoubtedly working on the Xperia Z4 that will be launched in the coming months. A recent leak shows a series of images in which the unannounced Xperia Z4 is compared to the yesteryear model, Xperia Z3.
The images show the metal frame around the Xperia Z4 clearly and it confirms the Sony OmniBalance design as well. The Z4’s frame appears to be thinner than its predecessor by 1 mm. The other major change seems to be the open port as in the Xperia Aqua M4 that was launched last week. There is no protective flap on top of the micro USB charging port of the Xperia Z4.
While these are the major changes, there are others such as repositioning of the microphone from the headphone jack, shifting of the SIM card slot from the right to the left. The micro SD card slot is missing arising doubts regarding lack of expandable storage as in Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Sony is expected to incorporate a higher resolution display, faster and more capable processor and impressive camera enhancements in the Xperia Z4 as compared to the Xperia Z3. Such additions along with some unique features will definitely make the Xperia Z4 compete with the other high-end flagship models that exist in the market.
