Lately, Sony sent media invites for an event to be hosted in India on June 26, and it was expected to launch the Xperia Z3+ smartphone at the event. Today, as expected, Sony officially unveiled the Xperia Z3+ smartphone in the country. The device is the international variant of the flagship smartphone that has been launched in Japan as Xperia Z4.

The device is at Rs 55,900 making it an expensive offering in comparison to the other flagship devices available in the market. The Galaxy S6 and LG G4 are priced much lesser than the Sony smartphone. In India, the Xperia Z3+ can be purchased from the Sony retail stores across the nation and the other retailers as well.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ is given a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p display and it is stuffed with a 64 bit 2 GHz octa core Snapdragon 810 SoC teamed up with Adreno 430 graphics unit and 3 GB of RAM. The device packs 32 GB of default memory space that can be expanded further by another 128 GB using a micro SD card.

The Xperia Z3+ features a 20.7 MP main snapper with f/2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and it is powered by a 2,930 mAh battery. Like the others in the lineup, this one has the IP68 certification making it water and dust resistant. Being a high-end model, it does support 4G LTE connectivity as well.

The Snapdragon 810 SoC is prone to cause thermal issues and hence, users of the devices based on this chipset are recommended not to use processor intense tasks. This is weird as users are asked not to use some features due to the use of faulty processor. However, Sony is expected to come up with a patch to resolve this issue.
