Two devices from Sony, Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance are currently receiving June security patch update Over the Air (OTA).
The new update, which is available for Android 7.1.1 Nougat doesn’t change the Android OS but brings in security and performance improvements.
Interestingly, for both phones, the build number of the new update is 41.2.A.7.8. Moreover, as is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along bug fixes. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and further, keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent while installing the update.
And, if you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
