Sony has started seeding out a new software update to Xperia X and X Compact units. The update installs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and is being rolled out as we speak.
Arriving as build number 34.3.A.0.194, the Nougat update upgrades the software from Android 7.0 to Android 7.1 in the two mentioned Sony devices. The exact changelog is not known as of now, but we do believe that the update also includes bug fixes and system enhancements.
As is the case with OTA updates, it should hit your device soon. If waiting is not your thing and you prefer to check for the update immediately, you can go to Settings > About Device > System updates. Before hitting the download button, ensure that your phone is connected to a WiFi network and is sufficiently charged.

Meanwhile, Sony has also started releasing the Nougat update to Xperia XA which arrives as build 33.3.A.0.127. The update also seems to carry May security patch alongside the Nougat goodies.
