Sony phone passes through FCC certification, may be the Xperia Z4

Sony has been going to quite some leanghts to make sure that its Z4 stays under the covers, with the result that apart from some vague ideas we are still mostly in the dark as regards the release schedule.

However, yesterday a hitherto unknown Sony phone with a model number of PM-0780 passed the FCC certification process, raising hopes that the Z4 may be about to enter the stage. Although the model number doesn’t say much, the fact that the dimensions of the device are identical to those of the Z3 at 5.75 x 2.87 inches is quite suggestive.

According to the certification, the device — If the Z4 — will also some with an external Micro-SD slot. Similarly, judging by the timing of its release we may expect the Android 5.x Lollipop with tweaks courtsey Sony’s UI. If true, this information will nicely round off what we already knew wbout Sony’s latest offering. The device will probably run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC on 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and feature a 20/5 MP rear/front camera combo.

Stay tuned folks, as we bring you more on this very soon.
