The Xperia smartphones always cause quite a stir while coming out of Sony’s coffers. That’s why the launch of two brand new Xperia devices, the C4 dual and the Aqua M4 got us all excited only yesterday.

The mid range devices, which were showcased at the MWC Barcelona a couple of months ago will be aiming to increase Sony’s grip on the segment where it’s facing tough competition from other manufacturers.

While the M4 uses the Snapdragon 615 SoC, the C4 dual is powered by a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core (Cortex-A53) MediaTek MT6752 processor coupled with Mali-T760 GPU.

According to Mukesh Srivastava, head at product marketing (Xperia devices) “We are looking to reach the top in this price segment with our new releases and in the future Sony will release many more products,”

The devices are much the same with a couple of specials under each’s hood. The Aqua M4 for example, holds the title of being the first completely waterproof device in the segment, while the C4 dual features a whole bunch of camera modes along with a super vivid display mode powered by the Bravia engine.

The Xperia Aqua M4 has been priced at Rs.24,990 and will be available starting Tuesday while the C4 Dual — whose price hasn’t been disclosed yet — will be up for sale starting mid-June.
