Sony has announced their new range of external batteries for smartphones and tablets, which will allow charging of devices via a USB connection and will be available in capacities ranging from 3,500 to 7,000 mAh. And I have to say, that external battery does look pretty good, almost like a smartphone in itself, meaning I won’t be trying to hide it from overlookers when using it.
These external batteries weigh around 198 grams and measure 130.6mm by 12.9mm, which is a weight and size not everyone will be comfortable with, so Sony will also be releasing smaller flash drive-sized external batteries in different colors as an alternative.
Sony will be releasing both the types of external batteries this fall, at prices ranging from 2,300 yen ($30) to 7,000 yen ($90). For anyone who often feel the need to get some extra battery life without having the plug their device into a wall charger, these batteries will probably be a must-buy.
