We all know Qualcomm is working on its upcoming premium SoC, Snapdragon 845 and LG is working on its upcoming flagship device, LG G7. Both are expected to release next year. While Snapdragon 845 will release in January 2017, LG G7 might see the light of the day in February.
Recently, we reported that LG G7 will come equipped with Snapdragon 845 processor. Although that news is still valid and true, a new report from China suggests that instead of Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7 will be the first device to feature Snapdragon 845 processor.
Snapdragon 845, which is the successor to Snapdragon 835 that featured in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, made its first appearance on the Qualcomm website last month.
As per the recently leaked specs, Snapdragon 845 processor will feature X20 modem, which will have 1.2GBit/s downlink speed.
Interestingly, this year’s flagship device from LG, LG G6 didn’t feature the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, instead, it went with last year’s incremental successor to Snapdragon 820, Snapdragon 821. This year also Qualcomm will release an incremental successor to Snapdragon 835 processor in July 2017. This new processor goes by the moniker Snapdragon 836 and will most probably debut with Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
Will the history repeat itself? Let’s wait and watch.
