Here we go, another smartphone with a 1080p display has been unleashed in the wild. Sharp has launched the Aquos Phone SH930W, which sports a 5-inch Sharp IGZO display with a Full HD resolution, in Russia, for a price of RUB21,900 or about €540.

The Aquos Phone SH930W was expected to launch in the country last month but was apparently delayed, and has instead made it to the market just in time for Christmas. It is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU (1.5GHz Qualcomm 8260A), making it the first 1080p device to not sport a quad-core Snapdragon chipset inside, which does make me think how well that full HD resolution will be handled.

The OS running on the phone is a lightly customized version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and other specs include a 2GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera on the rear, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB internal storage, and a 2100 mAh battery.

There is no info on when, and if the phone will reach other markets, though a launch in Hong Kong has been confirmed. It is a good phone, no doubt, though I wish Sharp could have fit in a quad-core version of the Snapdragon processor instead, which is much more powerful than the dual-core versions, specially when it comes to being able to handle things like HD games at such a high resolution.
