How to Set Iris Scanner on Galaxy Note 7

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features an Iris scanner and it’s probably one of the most exciting feature on an smartphone for the year 2016. Iris scanner is even more secure than fingerprint scanners that are found on most devices nowadays.

Iris scanner is quick as well to unlock your Note 7. You do not need to touch your device for it to work, just look at the iris scanner on your Note 7 and the screen will unlock.

If you haven’t utilized this great feature on your Note 7, here’s quick guide to help you set up Iris scanner on your Note 7.

  1. On your Note 7, go to Settings » Lock screen and security.
  2. Tap on Irises from the list of options.
  3. If you haven’t already setup a a basic security lock (Password, Pattern or PIN), you’ll be asked do so now. Setup your desired basic security lock and proceed.
  4. A disclaimer page will pop-up, tap on OK to proceed.
  5. You’ll see Iris scanner info page, read it carefully and then tap on CONTINUE.
  6. Setup Iris Scanner as instructed on the screen.
  7. Chose whether you want to show notification on lockscreen when the device locked or not.
  8. Once everything is done, the device will ask for your permission to enable Iris scanner. Tap on TURN ON and you’re done.

Now to unlock your Note 7 using Iris Scanner, just bring your phone in front of your face and it’ll be unlocked.
