Last month, Samsung unveiled the all-powerful Galaxy Note 10 duo — the company’s latest flagships for 2019. Apart from the bigger screen (Note 10 Plus) and the S Pen, Note 10 doesn’t have any other tangible advantages over the S10 devices. And because the specs are identical, there’s practically no reason for Samsung to deprive S10 of Note 10’s software enhancements.

So, only a month after Note 10 hit the shelves, Samsung has released a sizable software update for the S10 lineup, bringing a bunch of Note 10’s camera features alongside the latest security patch.

The 1.2 GB OTA, which carries software version G970FXXU3ASIG, G973FXXU3ASIG, and G975FXXU3ASIG for the S10e, S10, and S10 Plus, respectively, introduces new camera features/enhancements, such as Live focus video, new Live photo effects, Night mode for the front camera, Super steady video recording in Hyperlapse, and AR Doodle.

Apart from the additions in the photo/videography department, the update also brings productivity features like Link to Windows and DeX for PC. Finally, there’s the September 2019 security patch, and a service that changes your lock screen wallpaper every time you turn the screen on — Dynamic Lock screen.

Currently, the update is being rolled out in Germany and Switzerland but should be available in other regions sooner than later. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Repeat the process a few times.
