Samsung releases Galaxy A9 Android Pie update

Samsung Galaxy A9 Android Pie software update

Samsung Turkey earlier this month revealed that Android 9 Pie update would be ready for the Galaxy A9 2018 on March 15, 2019. Apparently, Poland has beaten its European counterpart to this update, with the country’s Pie firmware for the A9 2018 already floating around the web.

We don’t have word on if users of the Galaxy A9 2018 have already started receiving the OTA. But we do know that when it finally arrives, it will carry software version A920FXXU1BSC5.

This is a staggered rollout and having been spotted in Poland, it shouldn’t take ages to arrive in fellow European countries. The phone is also sold in Asia and Africa, among other regions.

Samsung Experience is no more, this time, you get the One UI on top of Android Pie. While the skin has some cool additions it brings over Experience, not everyone is in agreement with this statement. But of course, you’ll be your own judge once you receive the update.

The update to Pie is the first for the A9 2018 and we expect Samsung to upgrade it to the upcoming Android Q at some point, probably in 2020, but we don’t know for sure.
