Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S5e, a good value for money tablet for $399

Android tablets are fairly behind the competition from the iPad by a long shot; however, Samsung has now launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e which could possibly help a bit in bridging the gap between the Apple’s tablet and those powered by Android OS.

Samsung has the unpacked event coming on February 20 where it will unveil the Galaxy S10 sets, but the company chose to unveil the new tablet already, although it was a cool unveil we have to say. Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy Tab S5e in a pretty cool way with the help of two popular YouTubers Peter McKinnon and Super Saf on Samsung’s official YouTube page.

The Tab S5e is a marvelous super-thin device that comes in at a thickness of just 5.5mm. Despite the sleek profile and low weight of 400 grams, Samsung has managed to fit in a huge 7,040mAh battery that is capable of fast charging.

Samsung has also added a 10.5-inch WQVGA Super AMOLED display — that is easily one of the best displays you’d see on a tablet although it isn’t a high-refresh rate panel like the one on the iPad Pro.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is powered by a Snapdragon 670 chipset, which isn’t a powerful processor like the Snapdragon 845, or the new ones like Snapdragon 855 or the Exynos 9820. but it should do the job fairly well. Yes, the device is powered by Android Pie.

As regards RAM and storage, you get a combo of 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage or 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. The device also has support for expandable storage and supports 512GB cards as well.

Samsung has put in a Type C port in the Tab S5e, and the cameras are fairly well spec’ed too: Samsung is using a 13MP sensor at the back of the Tab S5e, while a 5MP shooter on the front.

Price

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e carries the price tag of $399, which is pretty great if you ask us, given you get a very sleek tablet with a great Super AMOLED display on board.
