A few days ago, we reported that Galaxy S8 and S8+ shattered all the previous pre-order records with more than 550,000 registrations in just 2 days in its home country. It seems like the number is not going to stop anytime soon.

Samsung, at a press conference at its Seocho office building in Seoul, revealed that the pre-orders for the company’s latest flagship handsets have already hit the 700,000 mark in just a week’s time from the date of commencement. Further, Samsung said that it received 728,000 pre-order registrations for both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ combinedly as of Wednesday.

If the pre-order number continues to grow at the same rate, it would even touch the 1 million mark by the time the company stops accepting pre-orders on April 17.

For those who are not in the know, pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ begun on April 7 in Korea. And in just a couple of days, the company received over 550,000 registrations. To put it under context, that’s nearly 5.5 times more than that of what Galaxy S7 received last year.

Clearly, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are off to a great start in the home country, let’s hope the same to continue globally as well.
