Just three days from now, Samsung will add South Africa to the list of countries where Galaxy S8 and S8+ are available. Come May 6th and these flagship smartphones will be up for purchase in the country.
Samsung’s South Africa office teased the May 6th launch date of Galaxy S8 and S8+ through its Twitter handle. The teaser contains a video and a quote: ‘Something BIG is coming! Join us to celebrate the launch of the #GalaxyS8 and #GalaxyS8+’.

The 28-second teaser video shows an underwater diver caged into a phone-like box (phone with big bezels) which he breaks off and escapes. During the process, the phone-like box casts away its extra bezels and transforms into a bezel-less phone akin to S8/S8+. Another interesting tagline attached with the South Africa launch teaser is: We make what can’t be made. So you can do what can’t be done. Do what you can’t.

Already having captured the attention of the entire universe (or should we say galaxy!), these Galaxy phones have kind of redefined the flagship term. Bringing the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with upto 6GB RAM, the phone stands tall in performance. This is coupled with a new era of bezel less design as seen on S8 and S8+. And not to forget some of the unique features such as Infinity Display, unusual aspect ratio and of course the Bixby quotient. Galaxy S8 and S8+ have definitely set up a benchmark for other companies to try and bring in something different in their flagship phones.
