With a couple of months left for the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, we have seen many leaks pertaining to the device and its cases as well. When it comes to the software aspects of the fifth generation Samsung phablet, nothing much was known so far. Now, we have received the first report that suggests the possible software changes on the device.

An application filed in USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) dated June 30, 2015 shows that Samsung has requested a new feature that is likely called Write on PDF. The patent states that the new function can “computer application software for mobile phones, smartphone, tablet computers, portable media players and handheld computers enabling users to annotate and save PDF documents, images and files.”

The Screen Write function of Samsung is already a popular one in the Galaxy Note lineup of devices as it lets you write on the screen and save the notes or handwriting as a screenshot in the gallery. Right now, the ability to write on PDFs is a bit difficult. You will to activate the Screen Write with S-Pen, take a snap of the screen and write on it.

The new Write on PDF feature will let you write on the display directly without taking a screenshot or activating the Screen Write. You can select the function in the settings and write on PDFs instantly.

As of now, nothing much is known about the feature. However, it is known that it will be an exciting feature addition for the Galaxy Note lineup. It will definitely enhance the phablet’s user experience.
